Technology for Health Care
The National Telehealth Center values engaging people to identify and solve problems in the health care system. We introduce community-defined information and communications technology (ICT) solutions for health, using mobile phones, computers, medical devices, and the Internet. We innovate to make health care more universally available and specially accessible to isolated and disadvantaged communities in the Philippines.
We build capacities in health information management and governance, and we get frontline health workers excited and maximally use available ICTs for health. We value Free and Open Source Software philosophy, sharing tools that communities can use for their own development. Through community-engaged research, we help define what works and what does not in the use of information management tools. We mainstream these lessons by advocating concrete policies.
